Exhibition: “Impressionist Gardens” by the painters of the Rouen School – April 18 to June 28, 2026

To celebrate the 2026 Normandy Impressionist Festival, themed “A Possible Garden,” Rouen-based gallery owner Antoine Bertran, the exhibition’s curator, and the Friends of the Rouen School association have selected 26 paintings on the theme of gardens, which are on display at the Château de Bois-Guilbert.

Loaned for the occasion by private collectors, these works were created by 10 renowned artists born between 1856 and 1898: Charles Frechon, Joseph Delattre, Marcel Delaunay, Marcel Couchaux, Narcisse Guilbert, Eugène Tirvert, Pierre Dumont, Robert-Antoine Pinchon, Pierre Hodé, and Léonard Bordes.

The theme of the garden, which occupies a central place in the work of Claude Monet, will be taken up by the Impressionist painters of the Rouen School. The exhibition presents these gardens through the seasons: the painter captures the moment, the color, and the light. He conveys the sweetness of life beneath the blossoming apple trees.

The exhibition runs through June 28, 2026.
