The Sculpture Garden at Château de Bois-Guilbert invites you to a meeting with Caroline Coppey, visual artist; Didier Blavette, physicist and researcher; and Jean-Marc de Pas, creator of the garden and sculptor.

Meet artist Caroline Coppey and explore her exhibition “The Uniqueness of Color,” certified by the Normandy Impressionist label. Tour the Sculpture Garden and the new space created by Jean-Marc de Pas, “A Garden of Impressionist Painters.”

. at 4:00 p.m.: “Arts and Sciences” lecture by Didier Blavette, Professor Emeritus at the University of Rouen, in the castle’s salons. Lecture open to the general public.
How does science help us better understand works of art?
Light and color, pigment composition, authentication and dating of ancient works and objects, the art of glass… Didier Blavette invites us to discover what physics can reveal about art and its history.
. around 5:00 p.m., the lecture will conclude with a discussion featuring Caroline Coppey and Jean-Marc de Pas, exploring both scientific and artistic perspectives.
Didier Blavette is a physicist and researcher, winner of the Yves Rocard Prize and the CNRS Silver Medal. In 2006, he was appointed a senior member of the Institut universitaire de France. He is also a Knight of the National Order of Merit. He has been teaching at the University of Rouen-Normandy since 1990.
