The castle greenhouse & the 2025 heritage lottery

The castle greenhouse selected by Mission Patrimoine as part of the 2025 Heritage Lottery.

Built in 1845 by Abel d'Arboval, ancestor of Jean-Marc de Pas and his family, the castle greenhouse is one of the very first glass and metal greenhouses built in France.

Currently in a state of disrepair, it will now undergo a much-needed complete restoration, which will preserve this interesting piece of glass and metal greenhouse history.

Its age and elegance—its gabled roof, openings, and molded cast iron ornaments—were factors in this decision.

The heritage mission will also highlight the château, its history, and the contemporary garden created by Jean-Marc de Pas. It is a living space that combines heritage, contemporary creation, and transmission.

The project to create an endowment fund by Jean-Marc and Stéphanie de Pas, intended to guarantee the estate's long-term opening to the public and its cultural and artistic vitality in a rural area, also reassures the various financiers.

Our sincere thanks go to all those involved in this heritage mission—the Fondation du Patrimoine, Stéphane Bern, the Ministry of Culture, and La Française Des Jeux—and, in advance, to all those participating in the Heritage Lottery, whose generosity is helping to save monuments throughout France.

A new page in the history of the Château de Bois-Guilbert and its garden is opening. We are happy to share it with you.
